Rescheduled Event Star of Hope Snacks and Goodnight – Volunteers visit with clients while handing out an evening snack to an estimated 500 residents. To make this event a success, we need nine, in-person volunteers, plus other willing Chi O’s to purchase snacks by clicking on the Amazon Wishlist for Snacks. (Snacks will ship directly to Philanthropy chairs, Karen Edmonds and Lizzy Edmonds) You are also welcome to drop items off at our house or when you volunteer. If you plan on bringing items when you volunteer, please let us know so we can count those in our inventory. Last year’s most popular item was the Oreo packs. This year, the Houston Chi Omega Alumnae Association will provide 500 bottles of water. The in-person volunteers will serve both the families and single residents at the Women & Family Development Center. Schedule for Volunteers: Volunteers arrive between 7:15 PM – 7:30 PM to sign-in, walk to the dining room and set-up. Clients are invited to come by for a snack beginning at 7:45 PM. Snack time is over at 8:15 PM. Volunteers help sweep-up & sign-out by 8:30 PM.
